Donating

So I have never really been one to donate, let alone volunteer.  The whole idea kind of pisses me off.  It seems inherently Christian or Republican to pay for needed things in such an unreliable way.  Can’t you just raise my taxes to pay for stuff? God! Also, volunteering doesn’t pay.

Anyway, even since I started working where I work however I have been donating more.  It burns me, but I do it because we have this three for one match thing.  So if I give KCRW in Los Angeles $384, my employer gives them $1152, so they get a total of $1536, all of which they should give to Anne Litt. Except when she plays Hotel California.

This sudden flood of philanthropy on my part is disturbing.  I am donating monthly to:

·         KCRW in Los Angles

·         KPLU in Seattle

·         The Human Rights Campaign (homos)

I have also given to:

·         Movenber  (prostate cancer)

·         Komen (breast cancer)

·         ASPCA (cute kittens)

I don’t really know what is wrong with me.  Any I going to start seeing the face of Jesus in bean dip or start supporting gun owner’s rights? Let’s hope not.   I need to start a charity to pay off my credit card bills.
