Well, it’s all done. Finally. I am unemployed. For three days.
I think this is how it’s supposed to go. People take you out for lunch or drinks and say thanks. It’s cringey and sad and nice.
I was consciously being very Joseph Campbell about this. We have these ceremonies for a reason you know. If you don’t follow them you will have nightmares for years. Trust me, the mermaid still haunts me.
How lovely to leave a job this way. Even people who I thought hated me came out of the woodwork this week.

Now no laptop, no Blackberry, no budgets, no employees. I can sleep tonight. Off to do that now.

Sorry to have made such a big drama out of all of this. But it was kind of a big deal for me. Kind of up there with getting a brain transplant or moving to Maui.
Now that I have some time to think about the new job I can’t wait to take what I have learned in the last 4 years and apply it over at the foundation. I know the grass won’t be greener, but it will probably be different. A quick Google Image Search confirms my suspicion that there are many kind of grass:

See? OK, more next week. Off to lunch downtown, Nordstrom for some long over due new shoes, and then to the gym.
