Some thoughts on food:

• I have decided to put either put Campari or Tabasco in everything I consume. This can pose a bit of a challenge in the morning with both coffee and oatmeal, but I endeavor on.

• I am so in love with Nigella, even more right now, if that were possibly possible. The new series has renewed my enduring passion. How can someone be so beautiful? Do I want to have sex with her? Do I want to be her? Or, perhaps, do I just want to stare in rapt, worshipful reverence and wonder. The latter I think.

• Contrary to what I said last week, I think I can have no more green wine. I have the ick.

• God I miss potatoes.

• Massive hangover on Sunday required that I go to McDonald’s for grease relief even after desperately rummaging through a Vietnamese bakery looking for hum bao or those pork sandwich things. This was my first McSperience in 2010. Comments:
  • Bleck!
  • So not satisfying, even for salt.
  • Guilt totally outweighed anything else, even the potato lust.
  • Bleck!
The hangover was caused by having friends over and watching the Tilda Swinton movie called "I am Love" where she actually leaves her body and astrally projects while enjoying a meal.  I support this behavior.

• Blueberries, butternut squash, any form of sautéed greens, or sweet potatoes make me feel good in a snotty self righteous way.

• I do not miss red meat, even a little. I do not miss pork either. In fact I am only eating chicken in a desperate attempt to keep my mercury consumption to a minimum.

• Pasta. I miss you more than anything. Except for cheese. Which do I miss more? Sophie’s choice.

• I accidentally ate this pumpkin macaron abomination yesterday called a Whoopee Pie. I would do it again.
