Vacationless

Isn’t this the time of year that I start a blog where I whine about how poor I am and how I need a vacation and there is no way I will be able to afford one?

Yes, yes it is.

Well, here we go. Let’s start with the facts:

·New monthly car payment plus increase in insurance rates = $600

·Getting rid of old phone company and joining evil cable company = $50

·Ongoing monthly payments for heating system replacement $672

·Pending cost of water damage to front of house =$6000

This pencils out to me being out of this current debt in the year 2042. OK, actually heater will be paid off in 3 years and car in 5, but still, this is the first time since 2003 that I have not had a vacation planned and plane tickets purchased. Oh, no wait. I have to go to Phoenix, Arizona in 10 days for work. So not looking forward to this. It’s quit terrifying actually:

• Arizona – horrible Republican hell hole with golf.
• Traveling with old white men that I work for and I have to share the rental car and not park at the airport to “save money”.
• Forced to fly creepy Christian run Alaska Airlines with their sneaky prayer pamphlets they put in your “food”.
• Worst if all…sob!....I have to fly…coach…

I can’t even think about this anymore. Too traumatic.

Back to a vacation. There was to be a way to do this. I have a week of vacation time and I just started accruing time at a faster rate. 1.84 hours a week!

I also have enough miles on Air France to fly First Class one way and never come back. I also have enough Hawaiian miles to get to Maui on First Class and never come back. Unfortunately I am rather fond of my kittens so I should come back.

What is a boy to do?
