Bleu

Well here it is, day 7 of my new healthy lifestyle:

  • Alcohol units consumed in last week: 0
  • Walnuts consumed in last week: 64 individual nuts. Chopped nut pieces? No, actual nuts, 64
  • Oatmeal consumed in last week: 32 pounds
  • Salmons consumed: 4
  • Trips to gym: 2

I also ate an ahi and two chickens. And some almonds. And some pine nuts.

Drum roll please…..

  • Pounds lost: 7

Yes, yes, I know that the first thing that comes to mind when you think of me is alcohol. Did he really not drink for a whole week? Why yes, yes he did not. He drank a lot of fizzy water doctored up with a splash of Pom© served in a wine glass.

I am taking these supplement things I found at Rite Aid…Liver Blow…Liver Splode….Liver Spot….something….anyway, they are these liver supplements things filled with Turmeric and Milk Thistle which I am sure are very, very good for you.

I also bought a bottle of fish oil supplements. As with most supplements they are not regulated by the FDA. The label says to take 22 each day. I woke up with scales on my legs today. You can imagine my reaction...well....maybe you can’t......

.....suffice to say I was late for work.

Another phenomenon for me this week is sleeping. I have to say this whole “sleeping” concept is new to me. Do you know that if you have no alcohol at all that when you go to bed and close your eyes that something magical happens? You become unconscious and wake up 7 hours later feeling refreshed! Who knew?!

Yikes, I fear I sound like one of those recently minted AA people. The fervor of the newly converted. Fear not. My lust for the bottle is unabated. Friday night Mark brought home a new DVD of classic Dusty Springfield TV performances from the 1960’s. All I wanted to do was climb into a bottle of Bombay Sapphire with a big old piece of Stilton Cheese and watch Dusty till I passed out. But, I was good. That day will come, me and Dusty and the bleu bottle and the bleu cheese, but not for a while. At least not until I get through my next round of tests on the 23rd.

Off to get a salad now....
